Hi guys, was thinking about making a couple of rules that would be a "throwback" to the football of the 20s thru 50s, to make the league different from others and present a new challenge.

One of my ideas is to have a number of starters, other than kicker/punter, maybe 4 or 5 play both ways, offense & defense, with a max of 2 for OL/DL.

What do you guys think? plus any suggestions for other rules that would make the DFL more of a "throwback" league? I think it would help get new owners and fill up the league.

Here's a link to a very good article on the history of the game, great stuff! and I think it would be fun and different to have a "historical" type league, jdb has that in his thoughts for future development. cheers! https://operations.nfl.com/the-players/evolution-of-the-nfl-player/

Hmmm, there were 29 views and no comments. Im thinking that the idea is not being well received and that it may be better to create a Nostalgic Football League vs converting the DFL or AFL into one.

Might be very difficult to administer players playing both ways (ironmen)...an AI team would not allow a player to play like this ? I love the idea, but even the scoring was different in 20's if I'm not mistaken(?). It sounds fun and nostalgic, would like to hear others thoughts/comments etc.
